Denver based Edward P. Thomas joins the Heartland Companies.
Mr. Thomas’ extensive experience in law enforcement is a powerful edition to Heartland’s growing arsenal of industry experts. From 1994 to 2003 Mr. Thomas held a position as a Denver City Council Representative. This experience helped him direct from a chair position the Denver International Airport Committee. His leadership oversaw the final construction phase of the airport and implement the September 11th 2001 catastrophe protocols for shut down and evacuation of the Denver International Airport. Eddie performed key roles in analyzing the airport’s safety / security / speed deficiencies so that effective measures could be put in place to improve all areas of airport security.
For two years he was also Chair of the Denver Public Safety committee. This role allowed Mr. Thomas to not only manage budget allotments for the police, fire and sheriff departments but also to implement new effective procedures that enhanced public safety.
As a member of the 2000 Law Enforcement Panel Eddie conducted a complete evaluation and subsequent restructuring of the Denver Police Department.
Mr. Thomas also brings to The Heartland Companies his extensive knowledge in planning and coordinating security efforts for large events. His experience in this area includes coordination between local police the United States Secret Service, the Federal Bureau of Investigations and metropolitan city governments in order to protect high profile dignitaries like the Pope and the President of the United States.
